Position Summary
As a Senior Project Superintendent with Ventana Special Projects, you will oversee and execute complex projects valued between $10-50 million. You will be responsible for creating and monitoring project momentum, scheduling, quality control, safety, and delegating work to the project team and trade partners. You are a dynamic leader who can manage people just as effectively as construction activities. You will report directly to the General Superintendent who oversees the performance of all our projects.
As a Senior Project Superintendent your key accountabilities will involve:
- Managing site operations on commercial, industrial, residential buildings, and civil/infrastructure based projects.
- Reviewing and maintaining documentation and drawings, completing daily site reports, POs, and project photos.
- Reviewing and enforcing trade partner contracts and identifying discrepancies in scopes of work.
- Monitoring expenditures effectively, reviewing invoices in detail, and managing labour and material costs according to the project budget and underlying estimate.
- Managing all required municipal and provincial inspections.
- Supervising and developing site team members through regular feedback, training, and coaching.
- Ordering materials and equipment and requesting sufficient manpower throughout the project to maintain schedule and productivity.
- Preparing and maintaining construction schedules and advising project team of potential problems, work interferences, and scheduling difficulties or deviations from the overall schedule, and assisting in resolving any conflicts.
- Promoting a safe and healthy work environment for all personnel on site and monitoring safety performance.
- Working closely with Preconstruction on constructability, planning, value engineering, and trade procurement.
- Adhering to Ventanas quality standards, monitoring the performance of sub-contractors, and implementing techniques to ensure quality issues are addressed proactively.

As a Senior Project Superintendent your experience and qualifications will include:
- 10+ years of construction superintendent experience, preferably with a general contractor.
- Trade background with progressive experience in general contracting.
- Post-secondary industry education in Construction, Safety, or equivalent in company training (Red Seal, Gold Seal, construction and/or safety-based formal education).
- Demonstrated competence in the areas of safety, people management, project execution, cost control, quality, and administration.
- Experience working on multiple projects and projects with $10-50+ million-dollar budgets.
- Proficiency in construction scheduling software (e.g., Microsoft Projects, Autodesk tools).
